Coosaw Bridge Winter Trout Buckle My earliest "Fishing Memories" growing up in Beaufort S.C. were very early fall mornings standing on the side of the Coosaw River Bridge at the end of Sams Point Rd on Ladys Island Fresh Shrimp ,long orange and white cork bobbers and an incoming, tide produced the best winter catches to this day !! Mr. Charles Grisham , my families "back yard" neighbors along with Rev Richard Eskew who were both great "guides and trout experts taught me how to bridge fish and I continued for many years on Ladys Island Fall mornings . The first Coosaw Bridge was opened in 1965, there were very few people living on the island and almost no bridge traffic there early morning's on the bridge that not a single car passed so moving about on bridge was very safe. The 1965 bridge was replaced with the new bridge in the 1980 s along with No Fishing signs !
